Hoarders Support San Diego (HSSD)
This is an in-person, no cost support group for people who hoard. We
talk with each other; get and give moral support; express our
frustrations and problems; offer help and solutions; share
information on the disease, doctors, medication and therapy; try a
little cognitive behavior therapy; see a related film once in a
while during the meeting; discuss resources (organizations, books,
articles); and do whatever we feel like doing.
There's no need to attend every session —
come when you want or need to. If you are a hoarder, or know someone
who is, and if there's an interest, please send an e-mail message to
spyyyyyke@igc.org for
details. Or call (619) 665-6330.
Meetings: The first and third Tuesday of each month from 6:30 p.m.
to 8:30 p.m. in the Mission Bay area. Feel free to bring something
to eat and drink — we know it's dinner
time!
San Diego Obsessive Compulsive Anonymous Meeting
A 12-Step Meeting For People With Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
OCA is a fellowship of people who share their experience, strength
and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem
and help others to recover from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD).
Time: Monday nights at 6:00 p.m.
Place: The Department of Health Services Complex, 3851 Rosecrans
Street (In the Mission Room) (Across from the Old Town Trolley
Station)
Contact: Jim P. (619) 757-6603 24-hr voicemail. Leave a message to
request any additional information.
Directions By Car:
Take 8 West to Rosecrans Street. Bear left upon exiting. Make the
first left onto Moore Street. Go to the end of the street to
Rosecrans Street. Make a right onto Rosecrans Street. Get into the
left turning lane and turn left into the 2nd driveway (the "Health
Services Complex" sign is at the entrance).
Please note: the 5 Freeway also goes to Rosecrans Street but cars
are not permitted to turn left on to Moore Street upon exiting.
Directions By Trolley:
Take the Blue Line to the Old Town Transit Center Stop. Walk through
the big parking lot which leads to the Old Town Inn (There is a
crossing light first.) Once you cross the street and walk toward the
inn you’ll see a large parking lot again. This is the rear of the
Health Center. Walk around to the front of the building. Ask at the
front desk where the Mission Room is located.
The Coaster also stops at Old Town. You can follow trolley
directions. Please consult the Thomas Bros. guide or
Mapquest for
other routes.
